Polar Bears fur is actually not white..it's translucent (look it up if you don't understand) plus their skin is actually black underneath all of their fur..why?? you ask...black absorbs heat and warmth is one way they survive in freezing temperatures. But, anyways...she (the polar bear) still has flare ups of this skin disorder from time to time...but, I would be purple for a while if it meant I didn't have to be in pain anymore too!
